How to Join Empowering Brains

Empowering Brains is a free, public service, volunteer network of educators. If you find our resources useful, we invite you to become a member of our organization.Empowering Brains is dedicated to assist educators in translating the discoveries of neuroscience into practical and instructional strategies for improved learning in the classroom and to participate in the creation of learning communities, which are dedicated to developing competent, caring and responsible citizens. Our resources are free, but if you would like to help support our work, we invite you to join in a category of your choice: (Please let us know if we may post your name as one of our supporters!)

Join forces

Empowering Brains community has joined forces with Dana Alliance to establish a worldwide Brain Campaign. The main objective of this partnership is to inspire interest in the brain research and raise awareness about the brain as the essential organ for learning. In order to achieve our goal we will be celebrating the Brain Awareness Week in 2004

Brain Awareness Week is a worldwide celebration of the brain that grows more successful every year. It is an opportunity to let people Every year, hundreds of public events to inspire interest in brain research are staged as part of Brain Awareness Week, to draw attention to what is being accomplished in scientific laboratories, and provide information about the brain that everyone can understand especially educators.

Brain Awareness Week is in its sixth year and has become a major international effort to communicate the achievements of brain research. It is co-ordinated by the Dana Alliance for the Brain and like-minded partner organizations like empowering brains community

"Brain Awareness Week 2003 was a tremendous success. Hundreds of events took place worldwide," says Professor Colin Blakemore, Vice Chairman of EDAB, "Please help us to spread the news about the brain even further by participating in Brain Awareness Week 2004."
